PROJECT LIFESTYLE

01

Project Overview

This project offers a window into the dynamic intersection of design and technology, specifically, the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). While it's essential to clarify that this is a design concept and not a fully implemented application, it provides an exciting glimpse into the future of design while embracing the latest technology trends.

This endeavor explores the potential of AR and AI to revolutionize the furniture shopping experience. It's essential to emphasize that this project is focused on design thinking and creative innovation. Notably, it introduces features that represent improvements over existing platforms, offering a fresh perspective on the way we interact with and acquire furniture.

02

Research

In this project, I conducted extensive market analysis to identify trends and consumer preferences in online furniture shopping. Drawing inspiration from innovative companies like IKEA, the approach was geared toward understanding the evolving landscape of the industry.

To ensure alignment with industry leaders, I explored competitors' strategies, examining how they harnessed AI-driven product recommendations and AR visualization. This exploration allowed me to stay informed about the latest trends and practices in the field.

03

Problem Statement

The challenge was twofold:
To enable customers to visualize furniture in their own spaces through AR and to provide intelligent AI-driven recommendations for a tailored shopping experience. These goals align with the rapidly evolving AI and AR landscape in the retail industry.

Addressing this challenge required a deep exploration of user behavior and preferences, as well as the creation of a seamless interface that effortlessly integrates AR technology. The project aimed to redefine how customers interact with furniture, focusing on enhancing convenience and personalization.

04

Design Process

The design process was a journey that unfolded in several phases, each contributing to the evolution of the project:

  • Commenced with hand-drawn sketches and wireframes for the AR feature, allowing for a visual exploration of initial concepts and user interactions.

  • Transitioned to digital prototyping using Figma, where the sketches were transformed into interactive, high-fidelity prototypes. This phase was pivotal in bringing the project to life.

  • Embraced AI-inspired design features to enhance the user experience. While this project remains a prototype, AI concepts played a significant role in shaping the design, setting the stage for future development.

05

UI/UX Design

As a pivotal component of the design lifecycle, these UI/UX steps were instrumental in ensuring that the digital interactions were intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with user preferences. Let's delve into the core aspects of the UI/UX journey -

  • Prioritized the creation of a user-friendly interface with seamless navigation.

  • Crafted user flow diagrams to ensure intuitive interactions and logical user journeys.

  • Enforced a unified design language, emphasizing clear calls to action for a cohesive and user-centric experience while maintaining consistency in design elements, from typography and color schemes to iconography, to reinforce brand identity and usability.

  • Strived for accessibility in design, ensuring that the interface is inclusive and compliant with accessibility standards.

06

Next Steps

As we look to the future of this project, our 'Next Steps' involve ambitious plans to further enhance the user experience. We're committed to pushing the boundaries of design and technology to deliver even more impressive features. Here's a glimpse of our forward-thinking objectives:

  • Enhancing AI recommendation algorithms with deep learning.

  • Investigating options for integrating AR in the checkout process to improve user confidence and reduce cart abandonment.

  • Exploring VR (Virtual Reality) integration to enable users to visualize furniture in a VR space and create their own virtual rooms for an even more immersive and realistic experience.
